Understanding the safe handling of medication
Unpaid family Carers either living or working in County Durham
The aim of the course is to help people to be more aware of the medication they are administering and managing. Advising people on how to store medication safely and dispelling myths and fears especially around strong pain meds for example. Enabling Carers to approach pharmacists with concerns and questions and making sure Carers are part of the ‘cared for’ Medication review.

How to store safely
Legal consequences of giving the correct dosage at the correct time
Knowing when to question or query the suitability of prescribed medication
Feeling confident to oversee a person’s medication
