Volunteering

Here at Durham County Carers Support we value all of our Volunteers no matter how much time they can spare, it can make a big difference to the service we provide across County Durham and Darlington and we couldn't manage without their help.

We have various roles and Andrea Emerson is our dedicated Volunteer Coordinator who oversees the project.  We are very proud to have been the first charity in the area to be accredited with the Volunteering Kitemark from Durham Community Action in October 2015 and have sucessfully maintained this standard every year since, representing our continued commitment to Volunteering accross County Durham and Darlington.

Administration

We have a team of admininstrators who assist in the day to day running of the charity for Adult and Parent Carer projects and for our Darlington office.

Group Leaders

We have various Carer Support Groups that meet up either, weekly, fortnightly, or monthly. These are mainly informal groups where Carers can come and meet other people in similar circumstances. Our Group Leaders help to organise and support these groups.

Fundraising

We are looking for enthusiastic people who like to raise money for a local deserving cause.

Carer Ambassadors

Our Carer Ambassadors' role is one that can be adapted to suit you. It can be as flexible as you need it to be and can be tailored to suit your skills. You can be involved as much or as little as you like. Speak to Andrea for more information on how you can get involved.

Volunteer Counsellors

We have a team of Volunteer Counsellors who provide a confidential, professional service to Carers helping them to cope with the issues and anxieties related to being a Carer. Counsellors must be working towards a recognised Counselling qualification or already qualified.
