Durham County Carers Support provides training courses and events for Carers.  This is a great way for Carers to gain knowledge, whilst meeting other Carers in a relaxed environment.

Courses range from practical help with caring such as Moving and Assisting; and Access to Rights & Benefits, through to areas that focus on the Carer’s own well being and development, such as: Stress Management; and Confidence & Assertiveness.

We also offer Mental Health Awareness training, which is a 5 week course held in both Lanchester Road Hospital and West Park Hospital and there is a a 6 week dementia awareness course to be held at Auckland Park Hospital.

We can also help you access external courses and opportunities that you are interested in, so please contact us for more information.
